Pianist, composer, Wolfert Brederode presents his brand-new project Ruins & Remains, just released by ECM Records, in close collaboration with versatile drummer/percussionist Joost Lijbaart and the lyrical Matangi String Quartet.
In Ruins & Remains, the group members form one multi-headed being, making the music much more than a duo of piano and drums supplemented by a string quartet. Influences of jazz, minimal, classical music, folk and contemporary music flow together naturally in this genre-bending project.
